A busy weekend....

Whie the first Open House didn't turn out all that exciting we did have a busy weekend. Friday night started with a reported helicopter crash.

Chief Rimgale and Captain Laville responded. The victim was pretty banged up.

 We stabilized her and prepped for transport to the new ER room at Station 1

She was in really bad shape. At one point she went into V-fib on us and there was a required "jump  start"

On Saturday morning we responded to a one car MVA with entrapment.

Open House this weekend

Starting Friday night at 8:00 PM EST:

The SL Medevac Search & Rescue Team responds to air, sea, and land rescue calls. Our staff is made up of real world firefighters, EMT's, paramedics, first responders, and other former or currently active emergency services personnel. We respond to emergencies as well as provide help and instruction for boaters and pilots. At our Rannels location we also provide fire suppression and ground rescue services. We currently have five stations and are expanding soon. We are always accepting new members so why not stop by and apply today? Our "required equipment" cost is minimal and we even provide uniforms. Stop by this weekend during our open house and see our equipment and meet our members.

Someone's been sleeping in my bed....

A couple of squatters at my home today got a rather rude awakening. While they were "scrumping" in my bed the house just happened to catch on fire. However, Capt. McCaffery and I managed to save the day....

Burn training at Captive Desires

Members of the newly formed Captive Desires Fire Dept. joined with the Chief from Claremont Fire & Rescue for a little mutual aid training. We fired up the burn tower on it's most difficult setting and had over a dozen fires going at once. We got to practice drafting from a Linden lake as well as hydrant and ladder operations. Claremont's Chief brought their snorkel too.

Minor MVA up the street from the new fire station

No one was hurt and we transported the victim back to the station for an examination. She was released shortly after Lt. Solo was finished with her.

Pump and fire attack training

Lt. Solo and Capt. Laville worked on pump operations, aerial deployment, and of course interior attack at the new burn simulator at the fire station tonight.
